How to Start a Property Business

KREPS invited attendees to find out A-Zs of how to launch a successful startup of their own. The speakers shared their experience and some practical tips on how to start your own business. Matthew Black is a serial investor and founder of StartupV, which is a Global Startup Community TV. Matthew has a vast experience working with entrepreneurs and few insights to share of how to become a successful business owner or investor. Andrew Vertes is the founder of Virtual Commercial, UK’s first online commercial estate agent that has been a success for over 12 years now! Mike Seymour is the founder of Life Nest, a property rental platform with a vision to fundamentally change the residential rental market in London. Anya Khimich and Ollie Mason are founders of KOMA Guru, a company that provides Virtual and Augmented Reality services to individuals and letting agencies.

Property Law with Clifford Chance

Attendees heard from all aspects of property law, from the day to day job of a lawyer to the future perspective of the London Real Estate industry. KREPS hosted representatives from Clifford Chance. The panel of recent graduates and senior partners in property law gave a taste of what it is like working in the industry and how to break into it. This was followed by intensive networking. This event gave a chance to ask questions to the panellists and ask them about their firm’s internships & graduate scheme programs.

Adventure Cocktail Bar

Attendants met with like minded individuals over drinks and conversation at the first Inter-Society Social of the year. The societies provided drinks to all. Societies in attendance included: King’s Real Estate and Property Society (KREPS), Economics and Finance Society (EFS), KCL Entrepreneurship Society (KCLE), King’s Consulting and Financial Advisory (KCFA).

The Council Room

The Directors of the KCL Estates were back again this year for a talk about the development of the University Real Estate. The event gave an overview of last year’s transactions that King’s has completed as well as some of the ongoing and future projects. The Directors presented some of the most challenging cases they worked on while encouraging attendants to participate in the discussion.

The panel of recent graduates in the property market gave a taste of what it is like working in the industry and how to break into it. It was followed by networking and attendees had the chance to ask questions to the panellists and ask them about their firms’ internships & graduate scheme programs.

Waterfront Bar and Somerset House

KREPS invited students to discover the City of London, its history, architecture and its businesses through a series of fun challenges. Attendees were given questions and activities to complete in different sites around the City. The winning team that completes the challenges first gets a round of drinks at Waterfront
