An event organized with SEO London, we had the opportunity to listen to Fitseum Solomon Degefa, an executive Director at Goldman Sachs. He spoke about the challenges and various ways to enter the commercial real estate industry. Fitsum shared his journey within the Investment Banking sector with a specific focus on Real Estate management and operations.
Careers in Residential Real Estate

Bush House
KREPS hosted representatives from ChesterRow and Antonini Real Estate. The panel talked about the property market and spoke about their experiences in residential property development and a career in real estate agent . They have also given tips on how to break into the industry. The attendees had the chance to ask questions to the panelists and ask them about their firm’s internships and graduate scheme programs.

The event hosted three experienced speakers from the King’s Estate and Facilities departments from King’s College London. They presented the major infrastructure projects undertaken at the campus in the past and their future plans for King’s campuses. The event also presented a case study of how to analyse and source deals for the school, and how Bush house was reconstructed.
LSE Cross-University Real Estate Case Study Competition

LSE Campus
The KREPS committee had the privilege to attend LSE’s case study competition which last the whole day. The case was a 10 minute presentation investment pitch for a commercial property in Dublin which was presented and judged in front of several real estate representatives from various real estate firms. The day ended with a networking opportunity with the sponsors of the event and other peers from the competition.
Knight Frank Office Visit and Networking

Monday, 7th March
Knight Frank Head Office
Knight Frank is one of the world’s largest property consultancies in agricultural, commercial and residential real estate. Together with UCL Real Estate Society, over 70 students had the opportunity to visit Knight Frank’s office and get to learn about their graduate opportunities and the different roles in the company. The event ended with a networking session with the current graduate workings in the company and complimentary wine and beer.
Trends in Real Estate

Thursday, 17th February
Bush House
The event had four speakers who analyzed the emerging commercial trends in the real estate space market and how the markets will look like in the future. The speakers introduced what commercial real estate is, the different groups and classes in that area and how investment mechanisms work in that area. They later discuss on the emerging trends on the office spaces and retail spaces, and how Covid has impacted the industry.
M3 Consulting

Bush House
Consisting of keynote speeches, Q&As and a networking session, the event provided KCL students with the opportunity to meet the team from M3 Consulting, a London-based specialist development management firm. The company was currently looking for final year students to join their graduate positions, which was a great opportunity to potentially begin a career in property and consulting.
Internship Promotions

Email Communications
The society has started sending out internship and graduate opportunities to their members. At the beginning of the year, a file was compiled with all potential work experience for students from various real estate company. Throughout the year, additional emails were send out to members to promote internship positions from companies which contacted the society directly to promote the opportunity.
Freshers Fair

KREPS had an opportunity to attend the freshers fair where they welcomed new and incoming students to the society. Students could ask questions regarding the society, sign up to the newsletter and become a member, and also learn about ways to be part of KREPS.
